Find Irion County Traffic Records

An Irion County traffic ticket lookup starts with the court printed on the citation. Justice of the Peace and Mertzon Municipal Court matters follow separate records and response paths, even when both arose within the county. Irion County traffic court records can show a citation, plea, setting, or disposition, but a setting alone does not prove a conviction. Confirm the current date and status with the responsible court before paying, contesting, or requesting an option. The citation number is the best key, while the court office is the fallback when no public online lookup is available.

Traffic Case Records in Irion County

Traffic and other Class C cases in Irion County land in one of two places. Those are Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, or Mertzon Municipal Court. Which agency wrote the ticket tells you very little. What matters is the court name and the cause or citation number printed on the paper. That court alone keeps the live record and handles pleas, settings, payments, and copies.

The county JP page posts local forms and a payment link. Mertzon runs a separate city court. It has its own contact and no city docket or payment portal. A misdemeanor can also reach County Court. Felonies, though, belong to District Court, far outside traffic court.

Irion County Traffic Citation Records

The most common mistake is mailing every local ticket to the JP. The court named on the citation controls. The JP payment link covers JP cases only, and it does not accept Mertzon municipal matters.

Quick check: match the court name, citation number, response date, and office contact before submitting money or a plea. If any field conflicts with a web page, call the named court.

For a JP case, call the court at 325-835-4141 or go to 209 N Park View in Mertzon. For Mertzon Municipal Court, start with City Hall at 325-835-5791, or write to the mailing address the state court directory lists for the city.

Irion County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Irion County has no single citation search covering both courts. The JP page links TrafficPayment, but that vendor page offers no Irion-specific lookup fields. Mertzon posts no municipal docket search. Calling the clerk is the normal access route here. It is not a backup plan.

  1. Read the court name, citation number, and response date.
  2. Use TrafficPayment only when the citation names the Irion JP and the court confirms that route.
  3. For Mertzon Municipal Court, call City Hall with the exact citation number.
  4. If online access fails, call, mail, or visit the responsible court.
  5. Confirm the plea, setting, balance, and permitted response method.

Irion County Traffic Court Forms

The county JP page links a Plea Sheet, a Driving Safety Course Request, a Certified Driving Record request, a Courtesy Letter, a Juvenile Diversion Plan, and an inability-to-afford form. Each one does a different job. Paying a ticket is not the same as entering a plea. Asking for copies is not a court filing.

Nothing about driving safety or diversion is automatic. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A sets the broad procedure for justice and municipal courts. But eligibility turns on current law, the citation, and the court's instructions. File your request the way the JP directs, and keep proof you sent it. Mertzon has its own municipal forms. Ask that court rather than reusing a county one.

Traffic Court Dates in Irion County

Your citation usually lists a response or appearance date. A reset may exist only in the live court record. Old county docket PDFs will not carry a current traffic setting, and the county archive offers no current series. Call the named court before you drive anywhere.

Irion County Traffic Court Deadlines

An old date on a ticket does not mean the case was dismissed. It does not mean a warrant exists either. Irion County offers no official warrant search. No local OmniBase or license-renewal-hold status is posted. The responsible court is the only source that can state the live result.

Call soon. Give the clerk your citation number. Ask what the docket shows now, which responses the court accepts, and whether you must appear. Learn how the court treats mailed payments before you mail one. A missed date can shrink your options. A clerk can explain procedure but never give legal advice.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

A citation demands a response, not a guess. Paying may count as a plea and end the case, while fighting it means following the plea and setting process the court lays out. Read the ticket and current instructions before you pick. No single deadline or method covers every Irion and Mertzon ticket.

Paying the TicketContesting the Ticket

Missed date or payment: contact the issuing court for the present status before taking action. No current official source confirmed a countywide Irion warrant tool, OmniBase participation, or a standard local failure-to-appear fee.

Irion County Traffic Court Costs

Statewide cost charts from the Office of Court Administration list possible components. They cannot tell you the total on a specific Irion case. A few examples: a $12 driving-record fee, a driving-safety-course fee up to $10, and a $15 time-payment fee. A possible $20 county scofflaw fee applies only where the county holds the required contract. Irion's participation is not assumed.

Ask the court for an itemized current amount instead. Adding chart entries yourself will mislead you. The total depends on the plea, the offense, the request, the timing, and local participation. The OCA filing-fee and court-cost resources give statewide context. The court on your citation gives the real amount due.

Two Irion Traffic Record Files

Two different records often get confused here. The court case record traces what happened on one citation, while a certified driving record comes through the state driver-record process and may be required for a driving-safety request. Each serves its own purpose. One cannot substitute for the other.

Irion County Traffic Record Custodians

Mertzon Municipal Court handles city traffic matters in Irion County. The state lists the court at PO Box 456, Mertzon, TX 76941-0456. The phone is 325-835-5791 and the fax is 325-835-7570. No court email appears in that listing. City Hall sits at 104 S Park View, per the city site.

The city posts no online docket, calendar, payment portal, or records request form. So call the clerk. Have the exact citation or case number, the date, and the record you need. The city ordinance page names the municipal-court and traffic chapters. It is marked as work in progress. It never replaces the actual court file.

An Irion Setting Is Not Conviction

An Irion County traffic docket can list a citation. It can also show an appearance date, a plea, deferred disposition, a dismissal, warrant status, or a final result. Entries change as the case moves. A court date on the calendar proves only that the matter was set for that day. It proves nothing about guilt, and it cannot tell you what the court later decided.

Setting: a planned court event.

Plea: the response entered in the case.

Disposition: the court's recorded outcome.

Deferred disposition: a court-ordered path whose terms and eligibility must be confirmed in the individual case.

When the outcome is what matters, ask the court for the signed order or disposition. Do not rely on the docket alone. Give the clerk the cause number and date. That keeps an old setting from being mistaken for the final entry. A certified driving record is a separate state item, needed only for certain driving-safety requests.

Irion's older docket archive works well for historical calendar digging. It is not a live traffic-status tool, though. It holds older district and county categories and no current series. For a live citation, call the JP or Mertzon court. That gives a sounder answer.

Irion Traffic Actions Use Different Channels

A plea sheet, a payment, and a formal filing are three different acts. eFileTexas files documents. It does not look up tickets. The JP payment vendor takes payments; it files nothing. Use the channel the court names for the exact response you are making. Then save the confirmation number, stamped copy, receipt, or other proof the court hands you.

A records request does neither. It enters no plea and buys no extra time on a response date. When a deadline is near, ask the court which method counts as timely. Also ask what proof to keep. The court confirms no fax filing, drop box, or after-hours filing rules. Do not assume those options exist.

Irion Traffic Record Copy Fees

Ask the court that holds the citation for copies. Neither the JP nor Mertzon municipal court publishes a current traffic-copy fee schedule. District copy rates do not set the lower-court price. The state chart items below cover possible traffic procedures, not a guaranteed copy cost.
